Chris and Rose, a couple based in Clacton-on-Sea, UK, have spent over 25 years living by and actively applying the principles of permaculture in their daily lives. In the face of the global crises brought on by climate change, resource depletion, and environmental degradation, they have chosen to respond with intention and integrity. Their lifestyle is rooted in a deep sense of personal responsibility and a commitment to minimizing their impact on the natural world.
This is a detailed account of my eight-day volunteering experience at their inspiring homestead—and why I believe they truly belong on the list of thoughtful, conscious individuals shaping a better future.
Akash and his family have built a regenerative farm in the remote hills of Dhading, Nepal, inspired by his time in Auroville, India. What began as an experiment in self-sufficiency has grown into a living model of sustainable farming rooted in permaculture, agroforestry, and local wisdom. The family now produces most of what they need from the land, conserving natural spring water and nurturing biodiversity.
Beyond the farm, Akash also runs RegenPranali, a company dedicated to regenerative systems, spiritual capitalism, and deep ecology. Together, these initiatives aim to inspire a shift toward conscious living—reconnecting people with nature, community, and purpose.
Empowering you through mindful learning and growth.
